Today, Anthropic is launching Claude Motion, with Runway as a launch partner. Claude Motion turns a prompt into a short animated explainer built from the text, charts, shapes and images in your own work. Any animation you make in Claude Motion can be exported to Runway, so you can add generated footage, edit the full piece and finish it alongside the rest of your video work.
Claude Motion is available on Claude Team and Enterprise plans starting today.
How it works
Ask Claude to turn a quarterly report into a 30-second explainer for an all-hands, add motion to a chart in a board deck or build a product walkthrough for customer onboarding. Claude writes the code that animates your content, and the result plays like a short video you can adjust in the editor, revise through conversation or download as an MP4.
When an explainer needs more than animated text and charts, export it to Runway. From there, you can generate new video and images, edit clips by describing the change you want and use Runway Agent to plan and assemble a longer cut around the animation.
What teams can build
Launch videos that show the numbers. Animate a new product's headline stats in Claude, like battery life or speed gains, then open it in Runway and cut it together with product shots generated from a single reference photo.
Onboarding that shows the product in use. Build a step-by-step walkthrough in Claude Motion, then add generated scenes of customers using the product between each step so new users see the workflow in context.
All-hands explainers with sound. Animate a monthly update, then add voiceover and music in Runway before it goes on the big screen.
One explainer for every channel. Expand a 16:9 explainer into vertical and square formats in Runway for social, or localize the voiceover for regional teams without rebuilding the animation.
